Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity
This is the title my first existing T.I.N.A. (as the first first T.I.N.A. I made was truly terrible someone threw it away). That experience, in a sense, validated the essence of my work: my first Not Art was not just Not Art—it was pure and utter Trash.
Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity Curiosity is a commentary on meaning—not just of words, but of life itself. I redustated* a word deliberately on Photoshop by running it through as many fonts as I could until it meant absolutely nothing to me. Reduced to an inky, pixellized mass of squiggly lines, corners, and intersections, the non-word, for all intents and purposes, became an image, an image that, without meaning, makes no sense, has no purpose, except to be what it is and nothing more. Not even Not Art.
Except to me, on many levels, I know the slow but absolute power of repetition to squeeze all meaning out of life. So, ladies and gentlemen, let’s all do something different everyday, even if it’s just brushing our hair with the wrong hand or making up a new word.
*Redustition - the phenomenon of repeating a word (either visually or audibly) so many times that it loses all meaning.
